I'm an AT through hiker and participate in adventure challenges. I've always used a weighted vest and sometimes even a backpack but the load has always screwed up and uncomfortable. I'm prepping for the Pacific Crest trail and this thing has been so much better for me. Days I can't get out and hike, I can get on my treadmill, set my incline, strap on my ruck trainer and have at it. Completed a 31mile ruck last weekend with it carrying 40lbs. I attribute it partially to the FNG's ruck trainer. I knew how the straps would feel and how to adjust and it's super simple to set up and go. If you're serious about your hiking or training for SFAS, this is a no-brainer. I can say that because I've been in the Army and have been a long-haul hiker for 26yrs and I've tried every gimmick and tool I can find that can save weight, space and help improve my training and reduce risk of injury.

Not very adjustable for super tall people

I am 6'5" tall and while I am able to ruck with the pack, it clearly was designed for someone with a smaller frame in mind. To be clear, I am not complaining at all about the build quality of the frame. It will take a beating for sure. But if there is anyone else as tall as I am, be aware that it may not fit you or be as adjustable as it would be for someone shorter.

Issue with Sizing for Tall People

I am 6'2" tall. Unfortunately, the ruck trainer doesn't fit. In order to use the hip belt, the frame doesn't fit on my back. The frame is off set to my spine. I am guessing the US government only makes one size frame and tall people have to deal with the pack not fitting on their back.

Love it!

Being in the Coast Guard attempting Selection for the second time, I got to say, it's so good of yall to come up with this especially for the ones who do not have the same equipment provided. I wish I would have come across this before my first attempt rather than stuffing things into a backpack. I've taken it for about six miles so far and it hasn't been uncomfortable or anything. Definitely worth the wait.
